RATS! I am so upset! I just got off the phone w/ Recca w/ my ins. co (First Health)and was told that my approval was DENIED due to lack of medical documentation and that this is the ONLY thing holding it back f/ being approved. I verified w/ her what info she received. My medical records w/ the supervised diet was NOT part of the records that were sent!! I even brought a copy of my previous physician's records to my initial appt and they said that they didnt need them as they already received them directly f/ that doctor. So as I sit here typing I am on hold for Debbie at Dr. Dillawns office to find out why it was not sent. I have been sent twice thru to her voice mail as she is on the phone. I am insisiting on holding... More as it unfolds.... CRUD!...now I am told that she is still on the phone and was told that they could either get me to her voice mail or to try back! Will try back in a few moments.... Okay, well, my ins.co will not accept my documented wt loss attempts as they are too old. They want something recent...within the last 24 months! Debbie was on the phone w/ Recca at my ins. co. She will attempt to go ahead and send in what we have in my records. Other then that I have no hope except for starting a diet and doing it for 6 months then try again w/ my ins. I have to leave for an appt w/ my doctor and will broach this idea during the appt too. Any advice/ideas ??? TIA, donna

Good luck. Hang in there and eventually you will get to the approval part. They stall and stall, but they are only doing that hoping you will quit and give up. Tell the insurance people......."No problem, you want a documented diet, I'll do one, but I am not going away, I will be back." My company kept claiming that they didn't get the paperwork. I believed them because the Dr. office went from Jan 4 to 18th without transcribing my stuff to send off......... then once I got approval, the insurance co sent me a letter but NOT the Dr. You know that they were aware that by never mailing the approval letter to the Dr. that he wouldn't schedule the surgery. I found out by accident that I still was not scheduled and why... (insurance company told me I was and gave me my surgery date). I was livid. I called the ins. co. and reamed them out, and demanded to know why they had not notified the Dr. All I got was an 'I don't know!' Well, I know, the longer they put off my surgery, the longer they hold onto the money and collect interest on it...... more money for them.......... more profit...... and they hope you will be like some poor soul on here who finds out they were approved last year, and never knew, but now the surgery isn't covered.
