This is very interesting. My hubby is a truck driver for a very well known company. His CO has BCBS of Tennessee which covers the DS which is my surgery of choice. BUT the kicker is that the CO decided that they did not want to cover WLS because BCBS of TN told them that there were TOO MANY complications from ANY WLS!!!! So they opted for the exclusion. The other kicker is that the CO plan is self funded but I cannot get a straight answer on whether or not they will make an exception to cover my surgery. I have BCBS of AL and they say the DS is investigational and will not cover it. I do not know of ANY trucking company that will cover the surgery as of yet. My hubby said that if I found a company that would cover the surgery then he would go to work for them so I could have my surgery. I am looking but like you, have not found anyone that will yet. I will post it when I do though. The funny thing that his current company said was that if I exercised more and watched what I eat then I should be able to lose weight and keep it off. Well, let's see--I have PCOS (which makes it extremely hard to lose weight), severe sleep apnea, stress incontinence, a bad back, achy, popping joints, feet that SWELL when I am on them too long, and the list goes on and on. So, how am I to walk with popping knees and hips, a bad back and swollen feet?? Maybe I am supposed to starve myself to death. Good luck in your search. Keep me posted if you hear anything.
