Why only open incision?

I live in Fairfield, IL. I have the Illinois medical card. I called a doctor in St. Louis and asked if he accepted the medical card, and they said he does but Illinois medicaid will only pay for an open incision. Is this true?

You need to call your insurance company to be sure. There are probably just as many risks having open as there is having it done lap. I had open and it is not that bad, but recovery is slower. Good Luck to you!

How long ago did you have this operation done? What was the worst part about recovery for you? How big is your scar? I'm scared.
