Has anyone heard of Bariatric surgoens having contracts with Insurance companys? So If your insurace company says "no" but you pick a Surgeon under your plan and he has this with your same insurer. Did anyone understand that? Not to sure I did? Tina

From what I understand when a physician is in network, then they have contract as to how much they will pay and for which services. They all do it, it isn't anything new. kristey

Hi; Insurance have plans like HMO, PPO, POS some plans have contracts with providers (HMO). Some don't (POS) some perfer that you go to one of their providers (PPO) but will still pay if the provider is out of net work. It should say on the front of your card what the plan type is. If not call your carrier and ask them.
