Does anyone have insuarance that they purchased to have this surgery done?

Renee, I live in Louisiana as well. I tried to purchase individual insurance to get surgery covered. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but they denied me due to height and weight requirements. You may be taller and weigh less then me so it might be a shot for you. I called Blue Cross Blue Shield. You may want to check them out. I basically applied for a quote online and then once they responded I called and asked about height and weight requirements and was told no. Maybe this is an option for you. You never know.
