I AM APPROVED I AM APPROVED YIPPEEEEE!!!
Hello AMOS family,
I Got Approved!!!!
I hired an attorney to do my second level appeal with Aetna and I just got off the phone woith them and they told me that the denial was reversed and the letter was going out in the mail tomorrow. I spoke with the surgeon's office and they said as soon as they get the letter intheir hot little hands they will give me a date (probably in April).
I AM SHAKING I AM SO EXCITED!!!
I can't wait to be a loser!
Krista
Congratulations on your approval. I have come to realize that so far my insurance approval problems are not the insurance company themselves, but the surgeons staff that is disorganized and apparently dysfunctional.
I realize that sometimes things become lost or misplaced but when they can't find 3 referrals faxed by PCP on the day of my appointmen (and that is not including the ones that were done previous to that date-- I think my PCP actually faxed them 5 or 6 copies).
Then they can't find the letter dictated by the surgeon. Then they can't get the letter signed for 9 or 10 days when it is finished. Then, they change the story on the paperwork and its problems every time you talk to them. (When dates etc suddenly appear in the folder after the fact that were not there when you are standing in front of them with them reading it and checking, you begin to wonder if someone there isn't going back and writing things down to cover their behind so they won't get caught for their failure to take care of business.)
They don't return calls (even though you give them 4 days) every time you are forced to leave a message on the answering machine. When you must call 20 or 30 times to actually get a person instead of the answering machine, and then are repeatedly put on hold for 10 or 15 minutes.
The part that disturbs me the most, is that they don't listen to what you are saying but jump into a long excuse blaming the insurance company every time. It doesn't matter if you just called to give them a fax number, they jump into don't blame me mode........... making you wonder if there are frequent problems with things not getting to the insurance companies.
I am truly glad that this is not an imminent life or death surgery for me. If it was I would be picking out my headstone, and making final preparations because I am beginning to doubt them. I doubt if the Doctor has a clue yet what is going on. I get the impression that he has not been in this area but around two years.
Your message cracked me up. Sorry, New York is close to PA but too many hours. I'll hold you to that hug though.
I'm very happy for you and please keep me posted. Return my call little lady.
Sorry dont know how to do those bouncy guys
