SOMEONE is not being straight!
OK, I just called and spoke to the doc's office, the woman I had been dealing with all along *****ally is thorough and on top of things passed over my file to a part-timer. Today is the first time I got to speak with her. Here I am waiting on what I think is the insurance company to accept my doc, but come to find out she hasn't even SPOKEN with the ins. co. yet!!! She told me that she had left numerous phone messages at the ins. co. and no reply. So she gave me the phone number and name of the person she had been trying to contact. Me, trying to be a good doobie, called the member info first, BIG mistake! I got some moron that kept telling me "There is nothing 'the member' can do about this". So I asked her to transfer me and she wouldn't! She said, "I can't make someone pick up their line" ARRRGH! So I hung up and dialed the number myself, since the doc gave it to me. And don't you know, the lady picked up the line on the first ring. I told her I was a member and she asked me a few questions and my answer seemed favorable, like did my pcp recommend this doc and is she in network, all yes. I told her I did not think that it would have been a problem since the hosp is in network. She seemed surprised at this fact, then I told her I went on THEIR website which clearly stated that it IS. (Not to mention whe you call customer service they urge you to visit the website instead of calling) She said she emptied out her mailbox this morning and there weren't any messages from my doc's office! I get off the phone with her and call customer service back, they tell me the hospital is NOT in network, even though it is on the website. My doc's office called back and it seems we have hit a road block with this ins. co. I have another option which is switching ins. companies soooooo, we will see where that leads. OR I could go to another hospital which does NOT have a good track record Well at least I got some answers today!
Argh what a trip
