out of network
Hello all I have a question I have selected a doctor that was in network however he has moved to a new surgical weight loss practice so he is considered out of network I dont understand how he is considered out of network now I did ask my insurance company and the explanation was that he has to re-certify at the new hospital and that could take a while I was just wondering if there was anything else I could do about that. Thanks.
Probably not.
Doctors and hospitals negotiate certain fee schedules with insurance companies when they are in network. There's no guarentee that his new practice will be in network. I would suggest that you call the practice administrator, and ask if he will participate in your network, and if the certification is in process.
Good luck to you.
Girl, I would not waste anymore of my time on him. You don't want to end up with a huge bill after all is said and done. Call around and see if you can find another doctor that is in your network. You can always call and have your medical records faxed to the new doctor. I know it is like starting over but atleast you will be safe. And from all that I have been through, usually, if the doctor is not in network, the hospital is not either and you don't want that. Just a thought...I wish you the best of luck.
Be blessed,
Christina
