Sent First letter, waiting for approval

Hello all, this is my first time posting on this site, I've been lurking for a while. In the 8 months since I decided to have the Gastric Bypass Surgery, I've had my doctor supervised diet, blood test, u/a, ultrasound, chest x-ray, physical, assessment with the dietitian and the phsycologist, and my consult with my surgeon. I have Aetna HMO in Florida, I contacted them as of 12/29 when my file was sent for approval, they stated that they still cover the surgery if medically needed. Also I haven't seen any new clinical policies about the surgery since 12/04, which was structured around the doctor supervised diet. Having said all that I'm still nervous and anxious about waiting for the decision to come back. So far from what I've read on this board, I've seen a lot of fighters and this gives me hope. I just wanted to thank all of you for all the information you've shared, and I hope that I can contribute in the coming days, weeks, months, and years to come. As soon as I hear something from Aetna I will let you know.

These insurance companies don't want to pay so they'll turn you down thinking they have won. I used to tell peopel all the time. If they want to play hard ball then be it.
