Alliant PPO insurance in GA ??

Does anyone have this or have they dealt with them in the past? This was an included benefit on our policy when I began this process. I met all the requirements healthwise which was only to be over 100lbs overweigth and a BMI40+. After getting started doing all they said I had to do and getting my surgery date, I'm informed as of November any weight loss treatment became an exclusion. However... the verbage says nothing about "Morbid Obesity". The exact words in the new book I just got are "Any services or supplies for the treatment of obesity, including but not limited to, weight reduction, medical care or Prescription Drugs or dietary control (except as related to coverd nutritional counseling),.... it lists some other things then it says including: Procedures including but not limited to liposuction, gastric balloons, lap bands, jejunal bypasses & wiring of the jaw.
I'm just wondering if there's anyway around this since it doesn't specifically say "Morbid Obesity" and the fact that there are comorbidities such as High Blood Pressure, Joint Pain, Depression, difficulty breathing and as of late, I've been having chest pains that I'll see my Doctor about this next week. Heart disease runs in my family as does obesity. I do not eat poorly and do not lead a sedentary lifestyle, I just do not lose weight... but on that note, I also do not gain weight except when I have children. I NEED this surgery to get the weight off and I have no fear of being able to keep it off. I'm just trying to grasp at any straw telling me that I have a snowball's chance. Self pay is not an option and I would never put my family in the kind of financial hole that financing this type of thing would do, at the current offered interest rates.
I was supposed to complete my 3 mos physician supervised diet at the end of December, but became completely depressed and didn't even leave the house to make the appointment once I was told that my insurance had changed the 3 mos physician supervised diet to include nutritionist, and then "oh, by the way, they also sent a letter stating it's an exclusion now", by my surgeons office.
Sorry this turned so long... I guess I needed to vent along with my ??? Anyway, I am posting this on the local and insurance boards.. I hope someone knows something!
TIA
Melissa
