HELP!!! Need FL Surgeon Accepting Medicaid For WLS

Hi, It seems as though as soon as I found a PCP willing to refer me (after 3 years of trying), ALL surgeons in Florida who had been accepting Medicaid suddenly quit. The Cleveland clinic, which was my last best hope, is still not accepting new Medicaid patients as of today. I have never marked a message with the "urgent" tag, but my health is failing rapidly to the point where surgery will not be possible. Many thanks to anyone who can help me!

Hello Have you tried The Wish Center?

Thanks for your reply, Amber The Wish Center does not accept any 'public aid' programs other than Medicare. I called them (again) today just to see if they had changed their policy regarding Medicaid. The answer is still "no." It really steams me that the indigent, as always, are excluded from programs that promise opportunities available to those with the 'proper' resources. Our lives are cheap -- we are society's throw-a-ways. Those who are not poor and disabled believe that we get a lot of something-for-nothing. That may have been true at one time, but what we get now is substandard, dangerous, or no care at all. Worst of all, we are denied the possibility that we may someday be able to come forward from the fringes of society and contribute to it. I'm off my soapbox now.....
