I don't know what to say. At one point they told me I was "pre-approved" and then they tell me that my clinicals still need to be checked out by the UHC nurse. They have been looking at this since the first part of November, how long does it actually take? Anyone have UHC???? Thanks Yvette

They took 12 weeks to approve me. I shouldn't complain...at least I was approved!

That makes me want to cry! I figured it would take a while --- I wish I would have started this earlier. I am going to be very excited if they give me the "stamp of approval" before the end of the year!!!!!! Have a GREAT weekend!!!

Oh honey I know how you feel! I called my insurance company in Oct. to find out if I would be covered for the band. They called back and asked if I was having it done as an outpatient and I said yes. They then said it was no problem, just have the doctor call if I had to be admitted as in-house patient. I was thrilled and continued with the process. The surgeon's office wanted it in writing so I called the insurance company and made the request. Since they have to put it in writing, they are stalling and now say that I haven't proved medical neccesity!!!! I have a BMI of 48! I can't believe insurance companies. My surgery date was this Thursday, but it looks like it isn't happening. Best of luck to you. I hope everything works out. Janet
