Help! Being Bullied by my Medical Group!!!!!

Hi everyone! I really need your help with this.... OK. Well, my employer just switched us to Health Net as of 11/01/04- so since I knew this was going to happen a few months ago, and to try my best to cut down on wasted time when I was moving forward with trying to get WLS- I went ahead I asked the facility I was interested in having my surgery done at if they could help direct me towards a doctor or medical group that they have good experience with approvals w/ health Net HMO, I also asked them EXACTLY how they suggested I broach the subject with this new doctor so I didn't seem obvious ( but afterall- I weigh 340lbs so if I had not brought up the subject it would have looked like I was in denial- I'm sure!) the rep at the WLS center said to just let them know that I have been looking into WLS, include all my personal and health reasons and what I have found out in my research and then let them know that I was interested in the specifi WLS center..... so I went ahead and chose the medical group that she suggested and made an appointment for a new patient check up. I felt like everything went really well and that this new PCP really was great and had a true empathy for overweight patients- he said that he would put in the referral for a consult with the WLS center- well, 2 weeks later when I came back for a follow up visit- during which I asked when I could expect the referral, he stated that the when he spoke with the medical director- the medical director was "very concerned" as to the fact that this WLS had another "patient" come in and ask for them- and that it was not fair to the medical group to put such a financial burden on them by referring WLS patients to them- so he said that I may have to talk to the medical driector directly, well by the end of last week the medical director called me- and I felt like I was on the witness stand...he asked me so many questions!!!!.although I did not give in and tell him that they referred me.......if I had known that it was wrong to be referred by them or to have aked to be sent to that specific facility I wouldn't have...but now I am concerned that my medical group will make it near impossible to be approved for surgery... does anyone have any experience with a medical group or Health Net? I feel so frustrated! I spend months researching different Dr.s and WLS facilities and tried take the right steps that would not waste time and would pair me up with a Dr. that is truly sympathetic to my needs....and now this has happened! what should I do??? I don't want to keep calling my medical group and make them mad ( or bring more attention to myself)) but I want to know what's going on! help! I don't know what to do....... please! Sophia
