Medicaid paying for surgery?

Does medicaid pay for WLS? More specifically, will they pay for the DS? What are the requirements, besides 100+ pounds overweight? Thanks, Maria

Hi Maria, Florida Medicaid will pay for WLS if medically necessary, so I'm assuming your state medicaid will have the same policy. The problem in FL, which may not be a problem in your neck of the woods, is that I can't find a surgeon who will accept Medicaid. I wish you all the luck!
