BCBS of ALABAMA

Does anyone have BCBS of Alabama, and have had the lapband procedure? I have been told that it is underinvestigation and that BCBS of AL will not cover it. Does anyone know why? If I can appeal and if it is going to change anytime soon? Thank you so much for your time in advance!! Chastity

I'm curious why you aren't just getting the gastric bypass, since it is covered? (I read your profile).

I am sorry, but I am not confortable getting the gastric bypass at this time, it is for personal reasons. I may change my mind down the road, but at this time I am very interested in the Lap-band. But thank you for asking.

It's a personal choice and everyone should respect that choice. There are a lot of people that want the Duodenal Switch as they feel they will get better results and they fight to have it. Donna
