Hi all, This is my first post here. I am hoping to have surgey, but have some confusion with my carrier. I am in San Diego, CA, but new insurance is through BCBS of MN. The plan is an EPO, which is basically a PPO, yet you have to use thier Docs like an HMO. I need no referral from my Primary DR, although he is supportive and said he would write letter if I need it. My question is this, has anyone had surgery with BCBS of mn? Cannot find any posts on them and am having a hard time finding any info on thier site. Any replies will be greatfully appreciated. Thanks so much. Jen

Ask your HR department for a copy of the Summary Plan Description. You should find your answers there. Also, you can call the EPO directly, and request that they send you a copy of their UTILIZATION REVIEW GUIDELINES for WLS. Good luck to you on your journey! Roberta
