MY INSURANCE COVERS THIS SURGERY, 90% THE THING IS I HAVE BEEN SEEING MY FAMILY DOCTOR FOR YEARS FOR MY DEPRESSION AND FOR WEIGHT LOSS, MEDS, AND ADVICE. MY INSURANCE COMPANY REQUEST A LETTER FROM HIM SAYING HE SUPPORTS ME HAVING THIS SURGERY AFTER ATTEMPTS AND FAILURE AT DIETS, AND SO ON,. AND MY DOCTOR SAID NO, HE IS UNCOMFORTABLE. MY INSURANCE COMPANY IS GONNA TRY TO GET IT FROM HIM, AND THE INSURANCE CO. ALSO TOLD ME TO GET MY SURGEON TO CONTACT AND TALK WITH HIM. I ALSO THINK HE THINKS I AM NOT OBESE ENOUGH. I AM 5 FEET 5 INCHES TALL AND 211. I HAVE ALOT OF PAIN, URINE INCONTINENCE, GESTATIONAL DIABETES, HIP PAIN. HISTORY OF BOTH PARENTS OBESE AND DIABETES, COLON CANCER, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. NOW WHAT DO I DO, WAIT ANOTHER TWO YEARS, WITH A DIFFERENT DOCTOR SUPERVISING A DIET, AND THEN GET THE SURGERY, IT MAY BE MY ONLY HOPE RIGHT?

No you should not have to diet another two years. You get ALL your medical records from your PCP and change PCP. Find one that is WL friendly and go from there. This new Doctor can take your notes from your old doctor and say that yes she has been dieting and that she is under my care. Put down all the complications your having and go from there with your surgeon. I had all my doctors write notes on my behalf and submit it to my surgeon. Donna
