Will they be stopping covering WLS in January? This is so strange bc first I have heard to be patient that a lot of BCBS states have been starting to revise their policy on the lap band procedure, and now I'm hearing that they aren't going to cover WLS at all?

go to bcbsal.org and search weight loss surgery in the provider section. You will see that their policy that will be effective 11/29/04! It is much harder to get approval. You have to be morbidly obese for 5 years now & they are much more stingent on the prior weight loss attempts.
