BCBS of IL is a joke also

All the letters that I have gotten so far from BCBS of IL stated that I must do 12 months of dieting. behavioral interventions and supervised increase in activity. Today I get a letter from BCBS Of IL stating that they are now handling my appeal. They are now stating that it must be a medical necessity. I HAVE TEAMSTERS 710 that is bcbs of illinois. I have 2 years of supervised dieting with my family doctor, and he has treated me for depression also, a total of like 4 years. He is refusing to submit a letter supporting my surgery. He says he is uncomfortable. bcbs of ill. said of course the surgeon will say yes, that is why we need the family doctor to write this kind of letter. also, yes it must be medical necessary, what does that mean? I have chronic hip pain, shortness of breath, urine incontinence, and so on, what do you have? then the caseworker said I needed to be morbidly obese, I said no, you just need to be aorund 35 bmi and some comborbids. She she needs to find out. she knew nothing. So I am seing the surgeon tomorrow, I am spose to have him call and talk to my family doctor. also i am five feet five inches and 212, so, whatever.
