What should I choose?

I currently have Aetna PPO insurance thru my husbands company. I have not had a letter written yet to my insurance company, but I asked them about WLS and they cover it IF you have 1 of 4 extremely obscure disease that really have nothing to do with obesity at all.. My husband is coming up on a year of having Atena PPO, and we can choose to stick with it or switch plans to something else. For ME and WLS approval, PLEASE PLEASE let me know WHO to go with?? I live in Centreville Virginia. I have an appt Nov 4th w/ a Bariatric surgeon, of course that means nothing. It's getting APPROVED that means everything to me right now. ANY advice would be SO appreciated!!!

Everyones insurance plans are different so it's hard to ask people which insurance company to go with. What I would do is call and check on all the plans that your husband can change to. Ask if they cover WLS and what are the guide lines in getting WLS through them and get it in writing. Donna

Donna is absolutely right. Get it in writing. Ask for the Summary Plan Description booklets, and review them carefully before making a decision. Good luck! Roberta
