Question about APPROVAL letter
Yes, that's right....I'VE BEEN APPROVED. I'm very very shocked, in fact....I keep reading it over and over to make sure I'm not only seeing what I want to...
Anyway, in the approval letter from Aetna, it states:
"Coverage for the follwing has been requested: Laparoscopic Roux-en-y Gastric Bypass to be rendered December 31, 2004 through December 31, 2004. Coverage for the requested service has been authorized."
Now, as you can see the date is for only one day. What does this mean?? Is it a typo?? Does it mean that I can only have it done on December 31, 2004?? Are they just stating that coverage is effective through December 31, 2004??
I'm a bit confused. It's Saturday and my surgeon's office isn't answering and neither is Aetna.
Thank you so much for your input

I don't know WHAT that means..dec 31- dec 31?? ANd I am sure it is driving you insane! I want to know if you have a chance real quick, which Aetna plan was it and did you have to have 4 of the necesssary obscure diseases to get approved, that they require?

Peace!
I have heard a rumor that Aetna is not going to cover this surgery after the end of this year, or atleast are going to have different rules to be approved. So, because the date they gave you is the last day of the year, I think they were just letting you know the approval letter is valid until the end of the year.
Just a guess?
Hope that helps.
