Primary insurance Secondary Insurance ??
Hi all.
I have a primary insurance that is very good in coverage. I also have a so-so secondary insurance (through husbands work) that will cover the insurance if you do 6 mos supervised dieting and alot of other stuff. Before submission to my insurance company, I signed off the secondary insurance because I felt it wasn't needed and it is really messing up co-pays for my husband. (separate issue) I am actually considering having it cancelled and listed it as a reason for not submitting to them. It was my perogative not to submit to them, as they were secondary anyway. I guess sometimes its great to be overinsured but in this case, it is unnecessary and a pain in the butt. My primary insurance normally responds very quickly when answering preauth submissions but its getting to be a long now for their decision and for whatever reason, my approval is dragging out much longer than most people with my idential insurance. Even the customer people at the insurance company commented that I should have had an answer by now. Has anyone ever had this situation ...that being that a possibly secondary insurance messed up authorization for primary insurance?
