You have much better than a snowballs chance. First of all, the exclusion does not address Morbid Obesity. Then of course, there is no mention of surgery. Go for it! Roberta

E- That's right! APPEAL! First, MORBID OBESITY is a disease and is not mentioned at all in this exclusion. Second there is nothing mentioned about bariatric surgery or surgical intervention. My exclusion states that they will not cover services related to weight loss or treatment of obesity. And yes- they do argue with me that 'obesity' is general and is meant for morbid obesity as well. I believe that we can fight this. If they mean it, then they should state it. Good luck and I am praying for you! Let's do this together! Beth

First off, is your insurance a "self-funded" policy through your company? If so, the appeal process is not the same as a fully-funded insurance. Please let us know.
