this is the second company in 4 years I have had to go through this with....same results.........yes, I know...fight fight fight.....but you know.....I think mental well being is very important too and as soon as I made my decision to go south for lapbanding, it was a weight off my shoulders, I could feel my blood pressure even out. I actually had already given up on Cigna but having to deal with it today brought back the High Blood pressure and reminded me of how much stress I was in dealing with them. And I truly think I could be sitting here next year doing the same thing fighting them with no results....just heavier and maybe with a heart attack by then!!!!!!!!! A friend of mine who worked at the morgue in Austin Texas told me two years ago that he sees people my age and weight every day in the morgue....(and I was 2 years younger and at least 50 pounds thinner then!) So, anyway....Mexico or Bust!

Ellen, I agree that Mental Health should be your # 1 concern. Fighting doesn't have to be stressful. You just need to go about it in a logical vs. emotional manner. Cigna (and your employer) win if you walk away without a fight. This is exactly what their goal is...to frustrate you into giving up. All insurance companies know exactly what % of denied claims will come back as an appeal. An even smaller % will appeal the second time, and so forth. If you are independently wealthy, then go ahead and self pay. If not, roll up your sleeves, and prepare to fight! Keep your *****s) up, Roberta

I can't self pay but I'm going to look into if my employeers Empire of BCBS covers WLS and if so then I'm going to have my husband take me off his and pay for my own insurance. My health can't take much more of this Donna
