OT- Descrimination
Ok- When you think things can't get worse- they can.
I have been traveling alot the past 3 months and have flown with Southwest Airlines 8-10 times during this period. Out of all of these trip, I never had them to do what they did today. A Representative came to me as I was patiently waiting for the plane and asked me if I was traveling alone and if this was a return flight for me? I responded yes to both questions. She asked me if I was aware of their policy. Their policy is that if you can not sit in a seat and lower the arm rest you have to buy an additional ticket. If it is not a sell out flight then you get a refund after you have met your destination. The lady already knew that only 88 out of 139 seats were going to be used. She confronted me in front of all of the other travelers before the plane even arrived and confiscated my boarding pass until I purchased another.
Yes- I should get a refund and should probably get over it- but as many times as I have flown, and they do this?
Thumbs down for Southwest Airlines.
You should contact Walter Lindstrom at the Obesity Advocacy Center http://www.obesitylaw.com/ I believe he has handled other issues concerning Southwest Airlines.
