i have a question about exclusions

if my insurance company has an exclusions for obesity surgery , is the a difference between morbidly obesity surgury and obesity surgury ?

Hi Sherry, Some insurance companies have exclusions on just obesity, but will pay for treatment of Morbid obesity. You need to contact your insurance company for details. La Toya

SO FAR MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT MOST INS. CO. W/EXCLUSIONS ON OBESITY WON'T EVEN TOUCH MORBID OBESITY EVEN W/SEVERE HEALTH CONDITIONS, UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO FIGHT. THAT MEANS GOING THROUGH ALL THE APPEALS PROCESSES AND THEN TO THE NEXT LEVELS AS WELL. THIS IS WHAT I AM IN PROCESS OF DOING, AND IT STILL DOESN'T MEAN THAT THEY WILL ACCEPT YOU AND COVER IT. JUST HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL THE AVENUES, YOUR INS. CO. (PRAYERFULLY IT WILL BE) MAY BE ONE THAT WON'T MAKE YOU GO THROUGH ALL THE STEPS AND WILL AGREE AFTER ONE APPEAL. Hi Sherry, I just wanted to reply to the last post you received. My insurance company Pacific Life and Annuity has an exclusion on treat of obesity, but will treat Morbid Obesity. I'm having the lap band procedure done on September 22nd, I was denied surgery the first time around and had the decision reversed on appeal. So there is hope you just have to contact your insurance company and get the details. La Toya
