I have talked to you briefly about UHC denying my surgery. What we had talked about was the fact that we are a small company under 50 employees and that UHC denies coverage for all companies under 50 employees and you had suggested our business purchasing a rider for the coverage. Well I have done research into all the policies under UHC for small companies and found that it is excluded in all policies and I just found out with a company under 50 employees in the state of FL you cannot purchase a rider. How is this not discrimination against a small company? I was denied on my first appeal. I have thought about an attorney as we disgussed before but being realistic what are my chances of winning? Ive spent $700 in administration fees to my doctor for a surgery I cannot get now. To put forth more money that isnt guaranteed in winning just doesnt make any sense. Do you have any cases in FL with UHC that have been overturned on appeal for an exlusion in the policy? If you could offer me any further advice I would greatly appreciate it.
