Emergency Insurance

I have been denied by both of my insurances (contractual exclusions). I have decided to pay for the surgery out-of-pocket. I am just wondering if anyone has been able to get catastrophic health insurnace in case the worse case scenario happens. I'm not sure that I want to put my husband and I into financial ruin if something horrible happens. I'm running out of time for finding someone. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
