If anyone else takes the time..which I don't recommend.....they will read that this is NOT insurance but a "Health PLan". What it basically boils down to is a benefit card which offers discounts up to 80%. But not on every procedure and not in every are and dnot by every provider. I did about a dozen zip code searches for providers and didn't mamage to come up with one single accepting provider within a 50 mile radius of the zip codes I entered. I did searches from all over the country not just my state. Don't even waste your time......I already did. Marsha

I am sorry to disappoint you but it is true. Ameriplan has been in business for 12 years now and they are a very repected company. They are also backed by the better buisness bureau. I am hear because one of my very close friends went through the surgery and thought it would be a good idea to let many people know about Ameriplan who can't get coverage that there is a health benefits plan out there that can help. The plan is currently out in Texas and will be out in all states by the end of the year. Don't knock it until you have read the literature and the benefits that Ameriplan offers. Instead of assuming it's too good to be true.

Marsha, You are incorrect in some of the things you said above so I need to clarify them. Every procedure is covered. Everything! Including cosmetic work. Any type of cosmetic procedure. the reason why you did not get any providers to come up for yo is because the health plan is not available in the Michigan area as of yet. The website explain this as well. You are correct this is not insurance. It is a benefit. there are many people out there that can not get the gastric bipass surgery covered through there insurance. this is something that can help them dramatically with the cost. In addition people who want plastic suregery after they loose the wait. this plan can help them since there are very few insurances if any out there that will cover cosmetic work. So Marsha this may not help your situation per say but it may help many others.
