Denied on first letter- Help!

I was denied on my first letter! My insurance is John Deere Choice. I was trying to get approved to have the lap-band surgery. The reason for the denial for the lap-band was I didn't have enough trama to my intestines (i.e. surgeries, trama, etc.) to approve this surgery. I have had 3 c-sections I think that is enough trama?! As for approving gastric by-pass, I haven't been under a doctor's supervised diet within the past year. So it sounds like the insurance company would rather me go through the gastric by-pass rather than have the lap-band. I am going to appeal their reasons, and need help going about it. Hi Kim, Sorry to hear about your denial. I was denied to for lap band, but for a different reason. They wanted me to do a 12 week supervisied diet. I did and got approved for a September surgery. So I just wanted to tell you to keep fighting. La Toya
