I beat Blue Cross and got them to pay for DS!

I had a BMI of 46.7 and appealed BC of CA 3 times and was denied by the state. I hired Walt Lindstrom and I felt that, unfortunately, Walter was a waste of my time and money. He is an appeal factory and he made SEVERAL mistakes in his letters to BC forgetting to change "she" to "he" and "her" to "him" and so it was quite embarrassing. So, running out of money, I then called my attorney-friend Larry Slade ([email protected]) or 818-997-8585) and he "legally persuaded them" to fork over $22,000 to pay for an out-of-network surgeon!!! We didn't even need to go to abritration. I love this man, and he told me he now wants to help others like me. He now seems to be specializing in this field, and several fellow patients have become clients of his. I stongly reccomend this guy. I hope he can do for you what he did for me. Good Luck! -Mike DS 7/18/03 335-->>177 46.7-->>24.7 Drs. Rabkin, San Francisco

Wow, what a slanderous post. I'm glad you won but that was rude. And they name is familiar because I know Gary Viscio and told him to look at this and he won't, but he did tell me larry emailed him to ask for advice. I can't believe this board would let an advertisement and slander just exist like this

And, I wanted to add that Gary forwarded me his email and told him that he is so tired of attorneys who didnt have the surgery saying they want to help and just do not. I didnt get the part in larry's email where he said he had some good and some bad results. I know gary hasn't had any bad, and I've heard walter had the surgery also. I also know I post here to help others as has gary and probably walter or others but larry hasnt because he never had our surgery. I would ask to emove this post before walter sees it

Ellen, First, I don't think you need to have had the surgery to be a good attorney. In fact, what won him my case was how he was able to bring a fresh, outside prospective to my situation. Secondly, I don't know how you could characterize my post as slanderous if it is simply my opinion and states truths of which I have written evidence. If you would like me to fax you copies of the gross errors he had made in letters to Blue Cross I'll be happy to do so. I don't know what your personal reasons for worrying about Walter are, but I feel that prospective clients would benefit upon learning about what they may be getting should they use Mr. Lindstrom. Finally, I wish Gary much luck and I want him to know if there's anything I can do to help his case I am available to him. My hope is that Larry and Gary might work together to build this case. -Mike

Michael, I would be very interested in knowing if you had an exclusion, or what the reasoning (they thought) behind the denial. I had at one time considered using Walter.

The exclusion was that they only paid for the roux-en-y and they considered the DS procedure experimental.
