Peer to Peer Review

Learned that the documenation given by my PCP is in question as they stated she documented my 2 years of dieting attempts "sporadically" and a peer to peer review between the insurance doctor that denied me and my PCP would be the best thing at this point in time. The surgeon's office stated the PCP would bascially be appealling on my behalf. Has anyone had to have this done for them and if so, could you share your experience(s)? Beth

Beth have your doctor look at the wording in the contract. Beside this requirement being contrary to NIH guidelines, "sporadic" may also mean "reasonable" compliance which many polices contain. Peer to peer is a good sign and a chance to speak to an actual person to argue your case. Gary Viscio www.obesitylawyers.com
