How long to be approved?

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had any idea how long it would take to be approved with Aetna after submission of paperwork? My surgeon submitted on June 15. I contacted Aetna via e-mail and they said it had been received and forwarded on July 5 to the "patient management" department and I should be recieving "something" soon. Does anyone know if making to the patient management department is a good sign? Beth

I'm appealing my decision right now but I called BCBS and was nice to them but demanded to know the status of my claim and it helped it get it moving faster.

Donna, If you don't mind me asking is there an exculsion on your bcbs policy? Is that why you are appealing? I am asking because there is an exculsion on my policy and I don't know if there is anything I can do. Cathy from Louisiana
