AETNA NOT APPROVING AS OF 1/2005???

just read on a news board that as of the end of this year Aetna Insurance isn't approving WLS. (unless the employer is purchasing an additional rider for WLS). Is this a horrible rumor or has anyone else heard this as well? Of course I can't find anything about this on Aetna's website. I had my consult, nutrition consult and psy. evaluation on 6/15 and the surgeon's office still hasn't sent in my paperwork to the insurance. I would like to know if this is true....if I don't get approved first time around I need to get started on my necessary criteria. Now I'm concerned that Aetna will drag it's heels until the first of the year and then say "oops...sorry" Any information anyone can provide would be so much appreciated. Thank you!! --Lori

Well, I don't know what happened to my response. Anyway, I called Aetna and they didn't know anything about it. I hope it's just a nasty rumor, I'm four months into the six months diet and I don't think I can pull off the whole surgery and everything before the end of this year.
