CIGNA- external review??

Well I have been denied by sucky CIGNA 3 times now. It is now going through external review. Anyone with CIGNA gone this far? I dont know who is reviewing my case or if they're connected to CIGNA in some way. If they are connected to CIGNA I'm sure I will be denied again. Any info. on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

An external review means that your file will be reviewed by an outside doctor with no connection to Cigna. You need to send Cigna a letter asap (FEDEX or UPS) and tell them that your entire file should be sent, and that they reviewing physician should have the opportunity to speak with your attending physicians. Also, make sure the reviewing physician is a Bariatric Surgeon, currently performing WLS surgery. Fight the good fight! Roberta
