help with BCBS Alabama???
i have bcbs of alabama and they are saying they have "requested more information from my surgeon" in a letter 3 weeks ago and said they mailed me a copy too. my surgeon and i have yet to receive it. i keep calling bcbs and my surgeon to find out what is going on and am not getting anywhere. if i had the letter, i could see what they needed and get the ball rolling, but they wont tell me over the phone what they need. i am not about to give up....i just wish bcbs would realize this. any ideas or suggestions are greatly apppreciated
Call back and ask to speak with a supervisor. If a supervisor isn't available, ask for their manager, and on up the chain. Tell them you are not hanging up until you get the letter faxed to you while you are holding on the phone, or at least, have them read it to you. Let them know that you are filing a complaint with the Dept of Labor outling their stall tactics, and unfair claims practice.
NEVER EVER EVER mail or fax anything to the insurance companies. Send it FEDEX or UPS so you can track it, and have proof of delivery.
