denied twice

i have been denied twice by cigna ppo. it has now been sent to national appeals . was denied because ins. did not see the benefits in the long run. have been fighting for almost a year now. is national appeals good . does anyone know. thanks , kitty

It depends what you sent in with your appeal. I hope you sent whatever information/documentation was needed to "perfect" your claim. Otherwise, they will just deny you again. DO NOT GIVE UP! What surgery were you requesting? It sounds to me like Lap Band. Cigna and a lot of other insurers have taken the position that Lap Band isn't effective as WLS tool. Did you meet all the requirements - BMI>40, 100 pounds overweight, physician supervised diet? Fight the good fight! Roberta
