I WAS DENIED BY AETNA NEED HELP WITH APPEAL!!

I was denied due to no evidence of 6 months physician supervised diet in conjunction with a dietician. I have been going to my PCP for the last 6 yrs and I have been going to a weight loss diet for since 6-2002. I included a ledger with the dated and my weight each time I visited. They stated that there is no evidence that I was on a diet. What is the purpose of weight loss doctors and what usually happens when someone joins this type of program. YOU ARE PUT ON A DIET. Right!! I going to ask the weight loss doctor to write another letter but in the mean time I need to get to work on an appeal. Any help would be appreciated. Anyone out there with a good appeal that will knock the socks off of Aetna. Please help Thanks in advance Shondra

The same exact thing happened to me. They told me that I was not on a diet for the previous six months. I think they will doing away with the surgery soon.

Hate to be the barer of bad news, but in my into meeting, the nurse stated the good insurance companys and the bad. Aetna was the worst. That is the worst insurance company. They wont approve but yet pay for all of the health cost's in the future? That is stupid, it will cost them alot more. They need to wake up. Find another job and get another insurance company is all I can say.
