I am in need of advice on insurance details. I applied for and was accepted for Adult Basic Insurance in Pennsylvania. I am afraid of asking the company if they pay for the WLS yet as I haven't received my paper work. I have sent in the first 2 months payment a few weeks ago but haven't gotten the insurance cards or anything yet. I'm afraid they will cancel my ins. if they know I want the operation right off the bat. LOL Anyone know of this company and if so....do they pay for WLS? I'm a nervous wreck waiting and worrying about this. My daughter just had the WLS 05/03/04 and is doing great! She's lost 30 pounds so far. She has a different ins. company and had no problems at all getting approved. Thanks for any info you can share with me. Deb

I would have asked up front what they covered. You hate to find out that they don't cover WLS. Donna

Well, it's like this. I haven't had any insurance since 1986 when my husband lost his job and then became self employed so I'm getting desperate now and applied for this "cheap" insurance that doesn't ask any health questions. It's not something I can really afford but I need something. So I guess I'll just wait and see what happens when I get it. I did talk to 2 different people before from the company and they both gave me a different answer. I'm just being nervous and worrying before time I guess. Thanks for answering me anyway. Deb

That's typical of Insurance companies. Always get a different song and dance when you call. Donna

I'm concerned that you purchased something without knowing what you bought, and what it covers. Would you buy a car if they told you it had four wheels, and some seats? You need to call and have them send you a copy of your policy asap. Read it with a fine tooth comb, and if it isn't what you want/need, start looking for something else. Good luck to you, and remember, BUYER BEWARE! Roberta
