Need Everyones input - BCBS Of ILL playing games

Called my husbands Human Resource to get some information on our insurance. We ended up on the phone with a lady at BCBS who informed me that my husbands company does not cover WLS and had stopped covering it since 2001. I informed her that I have letters from 2003 and 2004 stating that they cover WLS and she told me. Sorry but it's not covered and I told her, sorry but I'll be fighting it. Called my surgeons office today and spoke with the lady that handles his insurnace claims. She tells me that BCBS of ILL has NOTHING to do with what my husbands job decides to write into their policy of what they will cover and won't cover. I said true, but when I call BCBS of ILL they always ask for my BCBS ID number so that's looking up my husbands policy, yes/no?? It should state that it DON'T cover WLS. When I called BCBS back in November 2003 and told them that I wanted to see if my husbands insurance covers WLS they looked it up and said YES!!! I got it in writing so I feel that someone should eat the cost for making me go through months of dieting and tests. They can't even being to imagine what we go through to get WLS. I'm just so frustrated at this point Because what if my husbands policy don't cover WLS, do I have a leg to stand on to sue them and make them pay for the surgery for giving me false information and in writing on top of this? What a nightmare !!! I would not have kept going to Doctor after Doctor and taking the time off of work if I had honestly knew that the insurnace company did not cover WLS. Only good thing that did come out of all this is finding out I have sleep apnea and I'm being treated for that. Donna
