Please help me!

This was posted on the national and ny board before I learned of this one! sorry if it is redundant but... So as you all know, I was approved by UHC for my surgery, which was originally slated for April 21, rescheduled to May 4th (which is the date the insurance company was using) and then finally slated to go May 19th. My benefits intermediary called today and told me that effective immediately - ie TODAY, they are cancelling UHC POS for - get this MY ZIP CODE ONLY. 12 people are getting cut. It was my corporate benefits division's decision to cut one lonely zip code smack dab in the upper east side. my boss who lives 6 blocks from me isn't getting dropped. Now I'm trying to not be self absorbed, but I'm pretty sure the company did it to get out of paying for the surgery. And since they're offering me other coverages, they basically can pull this BS. I'm so p.o.ed. Even if other companies cover it, lets face it, I have to go through review again, and if that was really the company's motivation (a VERY large financial services firm on wall street who I will not mention until i sue them), I'm going to get denied on any subsequent reviews. Has anyone EVER heard of this? Certainly no one in my HR, at UHC or at th benefits intermediary had. I mean, people didn't even believe it was true. Needless to say, I'm angry. Anyone care to share?
