Question on Insurance approval

Hi Everyone, My surgeon submitted my paper work to the insurance company for approval. When I called the insurance company they where submitting my paper work to the review board. Today I called and was told it was sent from the review board onto the Doctor. Does this mean if the review board approved it that I'll get the surgery? Donna

Hi Donna, I just read your post regarding the review board. I have Dr. Koren also, Mandy and Judy are at their witts end with Blue cross/Highmark blue shield. They have been giving me the run around since all my paper work was submitted on January 6, 2004. They lost some paper work and I had to have everything resubmitted on March 26, 2004. Tomorrow will be one month and I will again be calling to see if the doctor is finished with his eval. On Friday 4/23/04 I was told that the hospital denied the surgery. What BS! Mandy is going to check on that for me. Good luck to you, I hope you have better luck than I'm having. PS, I also reported them to the Insurance commission and that still didn't get me anywhere.
