The exclusion on my policy reads...services primarily for weight reduction or treatment of obesity. Since it does not state treatment of morbid obesity do I have a right to fight the denial. I was reading something that Roberta said earlier in answer to someone else's question. She said obesity and morbid obesity have different codes. What does that mean. I am trying to fight the good fight but, do I have ground to stand on? Brenda in Texas

Brenda, I apologize for not being clearer. Insurance companies look at diagnosis codes (ICD10) and procedure codes. Obesity and Morbid Obesity each have their own diagnosis code, so they are two seperate conditions. I would definitely fight on that basis. Fight the good fight! Roberta
