Does anyone understand what "exogenous obesity" is and why a company can deny WLS based on that condition? Sincerely, Shelly

I could have sworn I posted an answer to this yesterday, but it never showed up. (?) Exogenous obesity means you got fat from overeating. Now isn't that a bit simplistic!?! This would be a good provision to fight. There is tons of medical documentation to support that obese people are the way we are for many reasons, not just because we are gluttonous pigs. I can't believe the policy actually says this. It's like they are blaming you for a moral defect, instead of a life threatening health condition. How dare they!!! I have NEVER seen this in any policy, (and believe me, I've read a lot of plans.) FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT

I would ask a lawyer what they think of that. Gary J. Viscio, Esq. Resnikoff & Viscio, PC 145 Willis Avenue Mineola, New York 11501 (516) 742-5300 Fax (516) 742-8130 [email protected]
