insurance troubles

Hi, the Doctor I have chosen to help me can't decide if he will participate with my insurance carrier, he is a participant but he says not for lap band surgery, anyone else finding this to be the case for them? Cindy Engelder

Hi Cindy~ I would simply look for a doc. that will work with your insurance. I would ask your current doctor to transfer your records. They will surely ask you why. Tell them that you HAVE to work with a doctor that will cooperate with your insurance. Perhaps they will then be more motivated to cooperate or you can just move on and find a surgeon that wants your business. I can't believe that they wouldn't want to update their participation as technology is introduced. Does this doc do lap band surgeries? Maybe the lap band isn't this doc's favorite solution. Have you considered other treatments or surgeries? Give them a choice. Update their participant contract or move on........ Good Luck !!! Kari
