Coverage Question

I am interested in surgery. One question I have is about insurance. How soon after applying for insurance will obesity surgery be covered. Let say I sign up with Blue Cross and coverage starts Dec 1. How soon after coverage starts can I actually have surgery? Thanks! Mo

Hi MO, I'm pretty sure you usually have to wait one year for your anniversary date. I have BC/Bsof Ga PPO, and that's their requirements. But you should beable to call them and ask. When you do write down the day you called and the person you talked to. Always keep up with that, and asked them to send you their requirements for the surgery. That way you know what you need.
