I need a little help, I got my predetermination letter back and it states the Gastric Bypass is not a covered benefit for the treatment of obesity, including morbid obesity. There is a right to appeal now, I'm not sure what I should do now, do I appeal? What do I write ?

Your surgeon should submit a letter for you. what insurance. yes you appeal. we are getting new insurance thur the hospital. now it will be principal health care. now they say that I need to be in a supervised weight program for six months. sleep apnea, morbid obese asthma bmi 42 and two hernias is not enough. we appealed 2 and still got refused. the insurance co. told me not to appeal again. it is a waist of time. I felt so hurt. lets see what this new insurance will bring. it starts jan 1. I hope it goes well. God bless you. shine
