Denial - Aetna HMO

Aftet waiting 10 weeks for an answer, I was turned down by my insurance. My surgeon's office said we have excellent grounds for an appeal. They said I hadn't had enough supervised dieting by my physican. I had been supervised by my physican for 1 year on a diabetic diet. I had weighed in every 2 weeks for 7 months. I have asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, and sleep apnea. My surgeon's office said there was no reason for them to have turned me down. So next week we will start the appeal process. My surgeon's office said once we do the appeal, the insurance will give us their decision in 1 wee****rtainly hope so. I am so upset, but determined to follow this through and have the surgery.

Insurance companies are awful, huh? You WILL win on appeal, you have an excellent case. Good luck.
