Aetna Question

Hi Everyone. One of Aetna's criteria is to show the "Presence of morbid obesity that has persisted for at least 5 years". In your opinion, do you think that my medical records from 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000 and 1998 would suffice (missing 1999)? I don't have any medical records from 1999 (I did not go to a single doctor's appointment during that year). I appreciate your thoughts. Many thanks.

Hi I also have Aetna and have the same problem..I have all the years except 1999 and I've been told by my dr and the surgeons office that try to get another year to fill it..so..i've been searching..since I didnt have a pcp before 2000 except in 1999 I went to one Dr office for woman problem and know I was weighed..now since they moved thier telling me they cant find my records..hmmm...I dont think they even looked in the storage where they say it is..what to do??

I wish that was the case as I was only in the office a few times and being it was back in 1999 I dont think they would remember me..the lady that I've been talking too is just the person ahead of the records department located in another city..office was in lakewood and records department in Seattle..I'm calling my surgeons office tommorrow and they will give her a call...I think shes just giving me the run around and just to lazy to look in storage..I just dont know what else i'm going to do other then wait till 2004 of april that would make 5 years then...you know If I would have known all this info way before hand I would have made sure of alot.
