Hearing in three weeks, Panic!!!
If there is a written exclusion, I would say pretty slim. Insurance companies unfortuanatly have the right to decide what they will cover, they just have to inform you of the things they dont. Since they have decided not to cover this procedure because of an exclusion and they have informed you of this. They don't care if your doctors say it is necessary, because they already told you before hand that they wont cover it. I hate that insurance companies don't cover this for the people that need it. But WLS has become huge in the past couple of years and unfortunatly alot of policies are written with this exclusion becuase it is expensive, elective, and they just dont think obesity is something that is medical. You know, the eat less and you'll be thin theory.
